"Conversations with Concrete (Cathy Hsiao)" is part of a larger series titled “Sculpture from Other Sculptor’s Sculptures,” an expanding group of works in which unwanted sculptures from other artists are recovered and transformed. The original work, a concrete dye basin, was broken into rubble. These fragments were encased in molten glass, whereby they were encouraged to "speak" through their off-gas in the form of bubbles.
